wake-up call

Okay, I have to admit. I was so stupid.

When I heard that Amazon is on fire, the first thing that came to my mind was; "Will my order be effected?". I wanted to hit my head so hard when I realized it wasn't about the company, but the actual forest in Brazil.

Amazon produces 1/5 of the earth's oxygen and it's literally burning down. The news slapped me in the face and reminded me once again that natural resources are not for granted. This got me deeply concern about what's coming for us in the near future. With the ocean being polluted by plastics, the Arctic ice melting at a dramatic speed, air pollution, and now one of the richest forest is disappearing by fire caused by human, we really should start konmari-ing the huge mess we've created.

It made me feel all the problems we have now, such as conflicts between nations or other political issues, are no longer our prior problems to be concerned. I'm not saying those things aren't important, and they're still what we must work on, but suddenly all that seems so small compared to what environment is facing right now.
